⁴⁸ Therefore you are witnesses and are giving-approval to the works of your fathers, because they killed them— and you build their tombs. ⁴⁹ For this reason the wisdom of God also said, ‘I will send-forth prophets and apostles to them, and some of them they will kill and persecute, ⁵⁰ in order that the blood of all the prophets having been shed since the foundation of the world may be required^[a] from this generation—
